It looks like half the films churned out in the mere future this year will have its backdrops as Madurai. Well, the moviemakers would blatantly come up with a liner – This film is based on real life incident that shocked in Madurai that shook the entire town in terror.

And now, new-patterned promotions for the films made in Madurai have popped up that says ‘Thoonga Nagaram’, which justly means ‘A City that never sleeps’.
Before few days, Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions commenced his new film titled ‘Thoonga Nagaram’ that features ‘Pasanga’ Vimal, ‘Nadodigal’ fame Bharani and ‘Renigunta’ Nishanth and director Gaurav in lead roles with ‘Katradhu Tamizh’ fame Anjali as the female protagonist.
Apparently, here’s yet another film that boasts about the same attribute, which is none other than ‘Gorippalayam’ featuring Vikranth in lead role. The print advertisements for this film carry a tagline – Thoonga Nagarathil Urakaththai Tholaitha Ilainyanin Kathai’, which means, a story about an insomniac youngster in the land that never sleeps.
