Karthik, young playback singer-turned-music director is celebrating his birthday today. The actor is 31 now!

Karthik, who was introduced as chorus singer in playback singing, was introduced as full-fledged playback singer with A R Rahman’s composition ‘Nendhukittaen’ in the film ‘Star’. The highly talented Carnatic trained vocalist went on to sing hit songs under the compositions of Ilayaraja, Vidya Sagar, Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja in big films of directors like Bharathiraja, Mani Ratnam, Shankar, A R Murugadoss and Gautham Menon. The singer has sung in all the south Indian languages and also in Hindi.
