Simbu doesn't influence me, I take my decisions - Richa

Actress Richa has rubbished the rumour that Simbu asked her to avoid acting with Jeeva in his forthcoming movie. She has told that she takes decision on her own and no body influences her.
I take my own decisions, asserts Richa Gangopadhyay

Bengali babe Richa Gangopadhyay has become one of the most-awaited newcomers in recent times.  Like it was the case with Hansika late last year when she had two films on hand with Dhanush and ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Richa too has not one but two films currently on floor and one of them would be her debut film in Tamil.  Richa’s films include Osthe opposite Simbu and Mayakkam Enna opposite Dhanush.

Following the ‘clash’ between Simbu and Jiiva over the casting of the latter as the hero in director K.V. Anand’s super-hit film Ko early this year, it was reported that Simbu had ‘restrained’ his Osthe co-star Richa from signing up any films opposite Jiiva in future.  It is in this backdrop that Richa has said that Simbu never told her not to star in any film opposite Jiiva.

Reacting to reports that she first agreed to star opposite Jiiva but backed out under pressure from Simbu, Richa says “I’m not so dumb that I’m unable to take my own decisions.”  Simbu was Anand’s first choice to play the lead role in Ko but due to some misunderstanding, Simbu opted out of the film and Jiiva stepped in.  The film’s success further dented the relationship between Simbu and Jiiva.

Some time back, director Ahmed reportedly approached Richa to play the female lead in his upcoming film opposite Jiiva.  It was also reported that Richa refused to pair up opposite Jiiva at Simbu’s behest.  It is in this backdrop that Richa has reiterated that “Nobody approached me to pair up opposite Jiiva; it’s nothing but a figment of someone’s imagination that I refused the offer on Simbu’s insistence,” says Richa.

“Nobody interferes with my professional work.  I take my own decisions and stick to them,” Richa concludes.
