Popular Film Writer Kalaimani Passed Away

Veteran film writer Kalaimani has passed away yesterday at his home in Chennai. He is 62.

    Kalaimani has written stories, screenplay and dialogues for more than 100 films. He only wrote the dialogues for Bharathiraja's debut film '16 Vayathinilae' and another hit 'Man Vasanai'.

    He wrote story, screenplay and dialogues for the films 'Gopurangal Saivathillai', 'Muthal Vasantham', 'Pillai Nila', 'Sirai Paravai', 'Em Purushanthan Enakku Mattumthan', 'Manaivi Solle Mandhiram', 'Ingeyum Oru Gangai', 'Malluvetti Mainar' that won acclaim and also came out as huge successes.

    It is the writing of Kalaimani that gave actor Vijayakanth a family image in film industry. Likewise, directors Manivannan and Manobala also delivered many hits with the writing of Kalaimani.

 Kalaimani has also written and directed films like 'Therkathi Kallan' and 'Ezhai Jathi'.

Kalaimani's writing had been honoured with many awards including Tamil Nadu State Government's Kalaimamani award.
