‘Pithamagan’ Hindi remake Salman Khan plays Vikram role

Salman Khan is all likely to play in the Hindi remake of Bala's 2003 hit 'Pithamagan'. Salman will be donning the role that Vikram did in the Tamil version.

The remake rights of 'Pithamagan' has just been bought by Bollywood filmmaker Satish Kaushik, who remade Bala's debut film 'Sethu' in Hindi as 'Tere Naam'. Salman again played the role of Vikram in the Hindi  version and the film was a huge hit in Bollywood also.

Considering the market of Salman Khan and his ability to get into the skin of any character made Satish Kaushik to decide making his next remake again with this actor. But, if Salman is going to do the role of the protagonist then Satish has to wait till the end of this year as the star does not have any dates available to spare till the end of the year.

"I did not know who was having the rights of the film and only later I could talk to the producers now getting ready with the script," says Satish when asked why it took this much time to decide to remake this film in Hindi.

Though the original script very well suits the Hindi audience the director is also planning to give little changes in it and add some Bollywood flavours. Other cast and crew are also being decided and the film will be starting by the end this year.

The Tamil film had Vikram, Suriya, Laila, Sangeetha and Karunas playing the lead characters and Ilaiyaraja scored the music.
