Kalaignar TV which began its functioning in 2007, has an array of channels that include, Kalaignar Seithigal (News), Isai Aruvi (music Chennel), Chithiram (Kids Channel), Sirippoli (Comedy Channel), is now to start a new channel under the name 'Murasu TV' on the birthday of DMK supremo Karunanidhi
After the arrest of Kanimozhi (the partner of Kalaignar) and the CEO of Kalaignar Sharad Kumar, who were part of the 2g scam, and were named conspirators for the case, has been behind the illegal money transfer of Rs. 200 crore between the real estate firm-DB Realty and Kalaignar TV.
Following which it was said that the license of the Kalaignar Tv would be canceled as the money of the 2g scam was involved in the Channel's developments.
Now we hear is that Kalaignar channel is starting Murasu TV on the birthday of DMK supremo Karunanidhi as a competition to KTV. Now the channel is working on a trial basis.
Kalaingar's Murasu TV is going to be a 24hour Movie Channel, mostly it is expected to play old Black & White movies. Logo is also as like Raising Sun with 'Murasu'(முரசு) in Tamil.
