2012 Diwali movies: Thuppakki, Poda Podi +...

Next Tuesday (November 13), is Diwali, exactly a week from today (Nov 6). The Kollywood Diwali fireworks will start on that day.
It has been officially conveyed to distributors that Vijay's AR Murgadoss directed biggie Thuppakki which was supposed to release on November 9 has been pushed to November 13.

As of now all films due for Diwali are scheduled for release on Tuesday, November 13. The list of films which are ready for Diwali day release are Vijay's Thuppakki, STR's Podaa Podi, and three small films – Ajantha, Ammavin Kaipesi and Kasi Kuppam. All these films have published ads saying Diwali release with Chennai theatre listing.

Meanwhile the very latest is that Udhayanidhi Stalin and his Red Giant Movies are trying to join the Diwali race with their off-beat Seenu Ramasamy directed Neerparavai.

The film which has been censored with a U certificate had earlier announced a November 23 release. But now it looks like it has been advanced to Diwali day.

More numbers of films are being released on Deepavali day than announced earlier. There were news that Thuppakki which has Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles is being released on 9th of this month but now it has been announced that this film will hit the screens on 13th.

This film is being screened in 19 theatres in Chennai. A R Murugadoss has directed this film. The story of this film is based on the bomb blasts of Mumbai. Major portions of this film have been shot in Mumbai.

Simbhu’s Poda Podi and Thangar Bachan’s Ammavin Kaipesi is being released on Deepavali day. The film Poda Podi which has a romantic story has been directed by Vignesh Shivan. Thangar Bachan has directed and acted in Ammavin Kaipesi. Shanthanoo and Iniya have paired in this film.

On 9th the films Ajanta and a Telugu film Damarukam which has Nagarjuna and Anushka in the lead roles is being released. Rajppa Ravishankar has directed this film Ajanta which has the music of Ilayaraja.

The film Neer Paravai is also being released for Deepavali. Vishnu has paired with Sunaina in this film which has been directed by Seenu Ramaswamy. The film Kalla Thuppakki was supposed to be released for Deepavali but its release has been postponed to 23rd. The release has been postponed because of the dearth for theatres. This film has been directed by Lokiaash. Ravi Devan who was an assistant director to Kamal Haasan has produced this film.

The Hollywood film Stolen which has also been dubbed in Tamil with the title Kazhavali is also being released tomorrow. This film has been directed by Simon West who had earlier directed Expandable 2. The Hindi film Son of Sardar is also being released on 13th. The Tamil film Kasi Kuppam is also being released for Deepavali.
