Vijay talks about Thuppakki, Kajal, Murugadoss...
All eyes are now on Ilayathalapathy Vijay and his Thuppakki, directed by Murugadoss. The film, which has Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady, is all set to rock the box office on November 13.

In an exclusive interview, this is what Vijay had to say about director Murugadoss and the film.

On Thuppakki: I had to be elsewhere in the mind at all times during all the scenes. If I was filming a scene with the female lead, I had to be thinking about the villain. If I was speaking with the villain, I had to be thinking of my love interest. It was not hard to portray; it was not difficult to face with terms of acting; but it was very fresh to me as an actor and I enjoyed enacting these scenes.

On Murugadoss: I love the way he presents a film. Before we began filming each day, he would explain every scene in detail, which I would seal inside my head. I’d go over it several times before I arrived on the sets. After we completed each scene, he would tell me which take was interesting and which was not, which always helped me improvise for that particular shot/scene. He is very detailed with every take.

On Fav Song: Vijay revealed that the chart topper 'Antartica' is his favourite song from Thuppakki.

"‘Antarctica’. There were very beautiful moments in every line, because it was filmed with a story woven into it. I think I can say that every line had a story in it. We didn’t approach the song with the usual commercial method of ‘singing and dancing’. The director has used plenty of montage shots in this song which was very interesting and intricate," Vijay revealed.

Kajal Agarwal: "It was peaceful working with her as she would look into her lines. She wouldn’t mindlessly memorize them and land up on the sets. Although she didn’t dub for her role, she learned the language and would always ask if she didn’t understand a word/line. She’s very much like the character she plays in real life – Bubbly and interactive all the time," Vijay said.
