It is Margazhi Masam, the music season when romance is in the air. December is an ideal season to release films, as normally climate is good and there is the big Christmas –New Year holidays.

Kollywood will see a record number of releases in December. Nearly a dozen big and small films have announced their release. How many of them will really make it to theatres is to be seen?

Update:

12 new films are being released this month on the occasion of Christmas and New Year holidays. Big budgeted films are also in this list. Coming 7th, the film Konjam Kofi Konjam Kadhal is being released.

Shivaji 3D which has Rajnikanth and Shriya in the lead roles is being released on 12th December. Rajni has mentioned that this film is his birthday gift to his fans.
On 14th December, Kumki, Nee Thane En Pon Vasantham and Sattam Oru Iruttarai are being released. Actor Prabhu’s son Vikram Prabhu is debuting as hero through the film Kumki. Lakshmi Menon who had donned the female lead role in Sundarapandian is pairing with Vikram Prabhu in Kumki.

Prabhu Solomon has directed this film. Nee Thane En Pon Vasantham has Jiiva and Samantha in the lead roles. This film has been directed by Gowtham Menon. Sattam Oru Iruttarai is the remake of the yester year film which had Vijayakanth in the lead role. Thaman, Reema Sen and Bindhu Madhavi are acting in the remake version. This film has been directed by Sneha Britto.

Paradesi directed by Bala will be hitting the screens on 21st December. Adharva, Dhanshika and Vedika have acted in this film. On the same day the film Samar which has Vishal and Trisha in the lead roles is being released. Another film to be released on this day is the film Kanna Laddu Thinga Aasaiya which has Santhanam in the lead role. Apart from these,small budgeted films such as Nanbargal Kavanathirku and Yaaruda Mahesh are also being released.
