Top 5 debutant heroes of 2012 in Kollywood
2012, saw atleast a dozen new heroes being launched. Among them we list out 5 heroes who were not only the newsmakers but also made an impact at the box-office.

The guys who made the cut are Siva Karthikeyan (Marina, Mannom Kothi Paravai & a cameo in 3), Udhayanidhi Stalin (Oru Kal Oru Kannadi), Vijay Sethupathi (Pizza, NKPK), Vijay Antony (Naan) and Vikram Prabhu (Kumki).
Vikram Prabhu
Vikram Prabhu, grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan and son of actor Prabhu burst forth into stardom with Kumki at the fag end of the year. 
The tall and dashing Vikram proved that he is a chip of the old block with his performance in Prabhu Solomon directed Kumki, which has turned out to be a blockbuster. The actor is doing currently Ivan Veremathiri with Saravanan, which will again be a different sort of film. 

Vijay Antony
Vijay Antony, the popular music director, debuted as a revenge seeking hero in Naan

The film which had peppy music also by Vijay turned out to be the dark horse at the box-office. Vijay Antony was appreciated as an actor and hero and has now signed his second film, Thirudan as hero.  

 Vijay Sethupathi
Vijay Sethupathi started acting from 2005 in bit roles in films like Pudhupettai, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Naan Maahan Alla, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru etc. 

However, he got noticed when he acted in many short films for the TV show `Nalaya Iyakunar` for Kalaignar TV. It got him the lead role in the year`s most pathbreaking films Pizza and Naduvilla Konjam Pakkatha Kannom. Now he is a star and has films like Soodhu Kavvum and Rummy

Siva Karthikeyan
Siva Karthikeyan is one of the fastest rising young stars who specialises in doing films laced with comedy. The stand-up comedian made a name with Vijay TV's, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, a comedy reality show. 

Later, he graduated into movies with Marina and Mannom Kothi Paravai, both successful at the box-office. Now he is doing Ethir Neechal as hero produced by Dhanush.


Udhayanidhi Stalin
Udhayanidhi Stalin, grand son of former chief minister M Karunanidhi and son of MK Stalin started his career in films as producer with his banner Red Giants. And with Oru Kal Oru Kannadi directed by Rajesh he made a great debut as hero. 

Udhay underplayed his role and won over the audiences even though Santhanam had punch dialogues. Now Udhay is doing SR Prabhakar’s new film in which he is paired opposite Nayanthara.
