Ilayathalapathy Vijay celebrated completing 20 years in Tamil cinema yesterday with his crew in Mumbai while shooting for his next untitled project with A L Vijay with Amala Paul playing his love interest.

Director by A L Vijay of Thaandavam fame says the movie is progressing at a fast pace in Mumbai.The movie also is the fifth collaboration for Amala Paul with Nirav Shah.

The entire Tamil film industry seems to be happy about such an achievement and wishes have been pouring in from all quarters. AL Vijay's crew currently shooting in Mumbai celebrated the star's feat with cutting cake and wishing him luck.

Amala Paul considers herself to be a lucky girl, after all she was part of the rare occasion in Vijays professional career.The cast of the movie including Amala Paul and Rajeev Pillai who plays Villain in the film, gathered and cut a cake on the occassion of Vijay’s 20 year run. Amala Paul tweeted to disclose his happiness: “So hpy 2 b prsnt hre wn Ilayathalapathi celebrtd a score in Tamil movies. I wish hm all te vry bst frm te bottm of my heart ♥”

It was reported that it looks like Rajeev Pillai from Mollywood would be playing the baddie for the untitled Vijay-AL Vijay project. Well that seems to have been confirmed with Rajeev tweeting "So happy to be present here when Vijay sir modestly celebrated 20 years in cinema."

Vijay completed twenty years in Tamil cinema yesterday as his first film titled 'Naalaiya Theerpu' released on 4 December 1992 and marked the entry of Vijay into the film industry. After the stupendous success of 'Thuppakki', Vijay's fans are looking forward with great anticipation to his next in the direction of A L Vijay.
