Ace director Bharathi Raja, Poet and lyricist Vairamuthu, Actor Prabhu, Sivakumar, Suriya, Karthi, Simbu, Opposition party leader Vijaykanth, Sneha, Prasanna, Khushboo, Sundar C, Mani Ratnam – whose film Kadal is releasing this Friday, Arvind Swamy, Suriya, Cheran, Ameer – FEFSI President, Sri Priya, Sarathkumar, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi – President of South Indian Artiste Association, Sri Priya, and UTV chief Dhananjayan – is just a sample of the number of artists who assembled at the Raaj Kamal office. Director Bharathi Raja was the first to show up immediately after Kamal’s press meet last after noon. Most of the visitors stayed on until 1am with a formal meeting organized at 8pm. Surprisingly Kamal himself did not attend the meeting and Raaj Kamal was represented by his elder brother Chandra Haasan.
Rajinikanth was also expected and it was later clarified that he could not make it past the crowd outside the Eldam’s road office. Raadhika Sarathkumar and Siva Kumar played the communication bridge to Rajinikanth and has kept him updated of the developments.
Amidst all the gloom surrounding the release, it is a definite bright spot that the industry is rallying around one of its stalwarts in his hour of need.
