Star Vijay, the Tamil wing of Star group of channels will be telecasting Kamal Haasan's critically acclaimed and commercially successful Vishwaroopam on Diwali day 2013. The film will be telecast in the prime time as the biggest Diwali treat of the satellite channel.

It may be noted that Kamal Haasan was keen to release the film through DTH service providers before releasing in theaters but finally had to back out of this idea after facing problems from theater owners association of Tamil Nadu.

Vijay TV has recently indulged in acquiring satellites of mega hit projects. The network has bagged big hits of the past two years like 'Nanban', 'Thuppakki', 'Podaa Podi', 'Kumki' 'Ethir Neechal'. The latest to join the list is Vishwaroopam and Mysskin's 'Onayum Aatukuttiyum'.

Well, with Vijay TV announcing such a huge blockbuster film on a special day, we can expect other television giants like Sun Network and Kalaingar to surprise TV viewers with their own lineups as well.
