His films were a rage in the '80s. His son Silambarasan (Simbu) has now established himself as a lead actor, but actor and director T Rajendar (who has for numerological reasons altered the spelling to Rajhendherr and will be referred to as such hereinafter) continues to star in movies, being still more than a little game for some song and dance.

But there was no song and dance at the city police commissionerate on Monday, when the multi-talented actor arrived to lodge a complaint against two agents for allegedly cheating him of Rs 1 crore by promising to arrange for international singers to perform on an album to be produced by Simbu.
A visibly emotional Rajhendherr told reporters that his production house, Kural TV Creations Pvt Ltd, had entered into a contract with Ramji Soma and his associate Talvinder Batth from Canada to rope in international singers Akon, David Guetta and either Nicole Scherzinger or Rihanna to perform in the album 'Love Anthem', with music composed by Simbu.

"The entire project was planned at a cost of $500,000," he said, adding that the agents took $100,000 from him to secure the services of Akon and had promised to refund him if the singer could not be signed for the album.
"My production house transferred a total of nearly Rs 1.2 crore [$200,000] to the agents but they made us wait and finally failed to sign the singers," Rajhendherr said. "I also spent $40,000 to book recording facilities and technicians. Apart from violating the terms of the contract, they refused to refund the cash."
Rajhendherr said he had to hire another agency to sign Akon and complete the album. Claiming that Soma was not answering his calls and had failed to accept court notices, Rajhendherr said he had requested the police commissioner to take action against the cheats.

Despite being in distress, the actor patiently answered personal questions from reporters. Asked about his son Simbu's marriage, the doting father said he would respect his son's wishes because he has always believed in love.
