Sameera Reddy is reportedly set to marry Mumbai-based businessman Akshai Varde in 2014.

One of Tamil cinema's heart-throbs for a large part of the decade, Sameera Reddy, has finally found her better-half and recently got engaged to him.

The lucky man is Akshai Varde, a private businessman, with whom Sameera developed a fondness for as both the individuals shared a common romance for bikes and biking.

Akshai runs a company that designs customized bikes. His company had designed the bike used in Akshay Kumar's Hindi film "Oh My God". He picked Sameera's birthday, December 14th, as the date for the engagement. The two are set to get married in 2014 and as of now there's been no word yet on whether Sameera would continue doing films after marriage. Her last Tamil release was Vettai in 2012.

Apparently, Akshai and Sameera got to know each other through a common friend and the duo has been dating for a year. They got engaged on 14 December this year in the presence of their family members.

"Akshai and Sameera were introduced by a common friend and they hit it off really well. They both have a common passion - bikes and biking - and they bonded over it. After a year of dating, the two got engaged on December 14, which also happens to be the Vaaranam Aayiram girl's birthday. The engagement ceremony was a family affair," a source told The Times of India.

The actress confirmed the news of her engagement to the daily.

Sameera, who made her Tamil film debut in 2008, won appreciation for her role in "Vaaranam Aayiram" co-starring Suriya. The actress was nominated for Vijay Award best debut actress.

Following "Vaaranam Aayiram", Sameera starred in several Tamil films co-starring with big heroes in the likes of Ajith, Arya, Madhavan and Vishal in Tamil film industry. She was last seen in 2012-release "Vettai", a Lingusamy directorial, which starred Arya and Madhavan in lead roles.

Besides Tamil films, Sameera has worked in other film industries including Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam and Kannada. This year she was seen in only one film titled "Varadhanayaka" (Kannada), which starred Sudheep of "Eega" fame in a pivotal role. The actress is waiting for her Bollywood film "Naam", a 10-year-old project, to see the light of day. It is not yet known whether the actress will continue her filmy career even after marriage.
