After the massive success of Arrambam, expectations are running high for Ajith Kumar’s Pongal release Veeram.

The audio album of Veeram was released on Decamber 20. Before seeing the movie, let us see what Veeram music offers us.

The immediate release after ‘Arrambam’ has created a huge hype among Thala fans pertaining to ‘Veeram’ scheduled to hit screens on January 10. The film has an ensemble star-cast of Tamannah, Viddarth, Bala, Munish, Santhanam, Appukutty and many others. Devi Sri Prasad has composed music to the lyrical lines of Vivega. The album has five tracks that includes the theme song.

Totally there are five tracks for Veeram, which are penned by Viveka. Sagar, Shreya Ghoshal, Priyadarshini, Adnan Sami, Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, Anand, Koushik, Magizhini Manimaaran, Jagadish and Deepak have sung tracks for the album while the music director himself has sung a song.

This is the opening track sung by the music composer himself. It is the intro song of the Ajith Kumar along with his brothers played by Munish, Suhail, Vidharth and Bala. The track begins with English lines and gives a feel of Western song.

When it’s an intro song rendered by Devi Sri Prasad, obviously, they’ll surely captivate our senses irrespective of who the star is. Imaginations were literally peaking up when it was for Thala Ajith Kumar. Apparently, the song fetches our attention at an ease. The fast beat tempo and instrumentals emblazon the song and the special attraction arrives with Ajith Kumar’s voice in between the track.

It is a romantic track between Ajith Kumar and Tamanna Bhatia. Shreya Ghoshal’s soft voice is addictive and catchy.

It’s been a long time we heard a melodic duet song in Ajith Kumar’s album. ‘Ival Thaana’ is a splendid one that has been done with the best approach. Both the singers Sagar and Shreya Ghosal have done a good job by adhering to the track with excellence. The song is sure to gain more prominence with the visuals.

The song does not make any impact on listeners. The song reminds us of some old DSP songs. The unique feature of the track is the apt voices of Priyadarshini and Adnan Sami. However, there are some songs that sound good when seen with visuals.

To be precise, this isn’t a best one from Devi Sri Prasad. To imagine this track with Ajith Kumar is little odd. However, things may turn different with the visuals as some of his earlier compositions have proved to be best on the screens. Getting on with the performance on singers, Adnan Sami hits straight to the line and Priyadarshini has come up with a crème de la crème effect for the song.

The track is an unreal folk number that is targeted at rural audience. It is not catchy as the real folk elements are missing in the track.

This is out-and-out an odd one in the album as there is nothing to speak about it. It sounds like 80s rural song (not of Ilayaraja style). This is not completely a showstopper, but might brood ahead of time. Devi Sri Prasad has brought in the right kind of singers like Pushpavanam Kuppusamy and Magizhini Manimaaran, but there is something missing there.

It is the title track and the song is highly energetic. Ajith Kumar’s fans could not have a better title track than this. The song has some powerful lyrics from Viveka which is sure to have a huge impact with Thala’s majestic screen presence.

The song although short in duration claimed the fame with its first look teaser that was released along with Arrambam… The bass and beats used in the song make it more enthralling for the listeners, especially for the Thala fans.

Overall, ‘Veeram’ music lacks substantiality in every track, except the title song ‘Nalavannu Solvaanga’. Maybe, the visuals and placement of songs will make it better on the screens.

Overall, the music album of Veeram has turned out to be average.
