Ajith's Veeram big worldwide release and theater counts
Ajith's upcoming film "Veeram" is all set for a big release worldwide on 10 January, a few days ahead of Pongal and the film is set to receive a grand opening like previous Ajith starrers. Jilla is also releasing on the same day, thereby making it the most power-packed release day in recent years.

Theatre owners in Tamil Nadu have been reportedly trying to allot enough number of screens for both the films, though the exact screen count is yet to be known.

In Tamil Nadu, both the movies are neck-and-neck when it comes to garnering theaters and multiplexes are figuring out a way to accommodate both the movies in their best screens. Many single screens have also been sharing their shows between the two movies in an effort to reach out to both sets of fans and audiences.

However, details about the film's screen count in overseas markets are out. According to reports, "Veeram" will be releasing in 153 theatres across 13 countries. The film will be releasing in overseas markets including USA, UK, South Africa, France, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Canada and Holland.

In overseas markets, Veeram has so far been booked in 153 theaters across 13 counties. The final listings for Malaysia haven't been finalized yet for both Veeram and Jilla.

A split-up of Veeram's overseas screen counts is as follows
USA - 67 theaters
UK - 22 theaters
France - 10 theaters
Germany - 9 theaters
Denmark - 15 theaters
Switzerland - 7 theaters
Holland - 5 theaters
Sri Lanka - 6 theaters
Australia - 4 theaters
Singapore - 2 theaters
Canada - 3 theaters
South Africa - 2 theaters
Belgium - 1 theater

Directed by "Siruthai" Siva, "Veeram" pivots around Ajith who dons the role of an elder brother named Vinayagam. Actors Bala, Vidarth, Suhail and Munish will appear as his younger brothers. Tamannaah is sharing screen space for the first time with Ajith and the film also has Santhanam, Pradeep Rawat, Nassar and Ramesh Khanna in supporting roles.

After a long time, Ajith will be seen in a rural avatar with a rugged look in "Veeram." According to the film's director, it was Ajith's idea to work in a rural pot boiler and wanted him to come up with a rural subject. Siva believes that the main highlight of "Veeram" will be Ajith's transformation from an urban to a rural avatar.

"Veeram", which is gearing up for a massive release on 10 January, is expected to take a fantastic opening on the first day of its release, though it will be facing strong competition from Vijay's "Jilla."
