AR Murugadoss regrets for increasing hypocrites in film industry

Producer-director A.R. Murugadoss has regretted the lack of feelings of gratitude and the increasing number of ‘hypocrites’ in the film industry.

The diminutive film-maker expressed his views while speaking at the audio-launch of an upcoming film titled Ner Ethir directed by Jayapradeep and released by producer S. Thanu’s V Creations. Ner Ethir stars Richard, Parthi and Aishwarya in lead roles.

The audio-launch function was held at the Prasad Lab premises at Saligramam in Chennai. Vikraman and R.K. Selvamani, president and secretary of the Directors’ Association (respectively in that order), directors P. Vasu, Murugadoss and Gautham Vasudev Menon took part in the event. Murugadoss first released the trailer of the film and then the audio CDs and cassettes which were accepted by Gautham Menon.

“Titling a film is a tough task indeed; however, the makers of the film have scored big in naming the film as Ner Ethir which is an excellent title. I regret that this title didn’t strike me so far; in fact, though I’m all set to commence the shoot of my next directorial venture starring Vijay in the lead, I haven’t yet decided about the title.

“Thanu is like a ‘mother’ who took care of all the problems which preceded the release of Thuppakki, my last directorial venture in Tamil. He is releasing the film and I’m sure he would ensure that the film succeeds at the box-office. Nowadays, the feelings of gratitude are sadly missing in the industry; even if a film succeeds, the crew members don’t bother meeting each other and exchanging thanks and pleasantries.

“Hypocrites have grown in huge numbers while the number of persons showing gratitude has come down which is regrettable,” concluded Murugadoss.
