We had earlier reported that Jilla has been trimmed because critics felt that the movie is a bit long. The fast paced song ‘Yeppa Maama Treatu’ has been removed and the fans went berserk.

The fast-paced Yeppa Maama Treatu song from Jilla has been removed after the film’s release, as the makers have got feedback from distributors and critics that the movie is a tad too long.

Many felt that the song, which features just before the film’s climax sequence, was hindering the speed of the on-screen flow of events.

However, there could be a twist in this tale as well. “Yes, we have removed this song but in some theatres, some Vijay fans are crying hoarse and demanding to watch it,” producer RB Choudary tells us, “So, though we have removed the song now, we are planning to re-introduce it as soon as we get permission from the censor board.” The film’s director, Neason, says “After some fans in Coimbatore, Madurai and Erode, noticed that the song was missing, things went berserk. They demanded that the song be re-inserted and we’re trying to work that out now.”

Tales of films being cut after release are dime a dozen. In fact, Vijay’s last film, Thalaivaa, was also trimmed by almost twenty minutes a few days after its release, based on feedback from audiences.
