Actress Sameera Reddy got married to her sweetheart and industrialist Akshai Varde yesterday(Jan 21, 2014) evening in a hush hush ceremony held at her residence in Mumbai.

Since Sameera Reddy and Akshai Varde's families were together in the city at this time, they decided to tie the knot yesterday, instead of waiting for another couple of months

They got engaged in December at Sameera Reddy's house and, yesterday, the actress and her fiance Akshai Varde got married at the same place in a traditional Maharashtrian setting. Present for the intimate ceremony were just 50-60 of the couple's close family and friends.

The sangeet, mehndi and cocktail ceremony took place on Monday night. A friend of the couple told us that the usually reticent Akshai swept Sam off her feet. "He made quite an entry and even Sameera was surprised. He brought a rose for her and then soon took her in his arms. What followed was a beautiful dance, with the couple's parents joining them," the source added. In fact, a close acquaintance of the groom adds that even though they took their time to know each other, Akshai feels that Sameera is the only one he can spend the rest of his life with. While Sameera wore Neeta Lulla creations for the sangeet and wedding, she will be wearing a Nishka Lulla outfit for the reception.
The preparation for the wedding was done by Sameera's sister Sushama, who barely got 10 days after the duo decided the wedding date. Apparently, since their engagement last year, they had been contemplating getting married in the earlier part of 2014. As luck would have it, both their families were together in the city at this time, so they mutually decided to shift the date as Akshai is going to be caught up with work for the rest of the year.

Yesterday, as she was getting ready, Sameera told us, "I am over the moon. He is everything that I wanted in a man and more. Our families are extremely happy and I couldn't have asked for more."

The couple had met during a bike shoot (Akshai runs a customised bike company) and started dating soon after.

She has starred in a few Tamil films including Vaaranam Aayiram, Asal, Vettai, Nadunisi Naigal and Vedi. Sameera has also scorched the ramp by walking in skimpy costumes at many ramp shows.
