The latest news that is going around in the industry is that Vijay’s production house, managed by his manager PT Selvakumar, has confirmed director Chimbu Devan for Vijay’s 58th film.

The advance amount is reported to have been made yesterday. This project is expected to commence immediately following the completion of AR Murugadoss big budget movie.

Buzz regarding Vijay’s 58th

Vijay’s 58th movie to be produced by PT Selvakumar is already public knowledge. There were some rumours last week regarding Vijay working with director Atlee. The sources close to Vijay confirm that the initial talks indeed had happened between the ‘Raja Rani’ director and Ilaiyathalapathy. But, may not have materialized due to various reasons.

Director Chimbu Devan

The latest news that Chimbu Devan has been paid advance by Vijay’s home production has surprised many in the industry. The sources believe that Chimbu Devan has been working on this script for a number of years. Chimbu Devan is known for mixing contemporary themes narrated in a comedy format and he had earlier directed Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul, Irumbukottai Murattu Singam. Chimbu Devan is currently busy directing Arulnithi for Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaniyum.

We also heard that, Vijay is completely impressed with script narrated and this project will be on floors in July once Vijay is done with his commitments in the yet to be started film with AR Murugadoss which is planned to commence in February. As said earlier, funding for this project will be done by Vijay’s long time associate PT Selvakumar and Shibu of Thameens Films.
