Finally Jayam Ravi's eagerly awaited Samuthirakani directed Nimirnthu Nil released on Saturday evening around 6.45 pm. The film had run into financial problems and could not release on Friday (March 7) as scheduled.

The producers Vasan Visual Ventures could not initially release the film due to this and was negotiating with the financiers for the last two days. Finally Jayam Ravi's father Editor Mohan stepped in sorted out the financial issues and made the release possible. Jayam Ravi in a press release said : ” It was really tough for not only for me but anybody to go through such a stress in the release of the most important film of their career . When the going gets tough the tough gets going , and I felt the emergence of toughness in me facing this tough situation. At this juncture i would thank my friends, trade associates, fellow artistes and my Fans for their strong moral support. The title says it all- ‘ Stand up right ‘ …and here we go !!!”
