MK Alagiri, former Union Minister and the son of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi who was expelled from the party, met Superstar Rajinikanth at his residence today (March 14) morning. It has heated up the political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu.

The news was first broken on Twitter by Dhayanidhi Alagiri, leading Tamil film producer and son of MK Alagiri. He tweeted: "Dad wished the one and only SUPERSTAR at his residence on the super hit audio launch of Kochadaiiyaan. I went along and got his blessings. One of the great human beings I’ve ever met in my life, long live our Superstar!"

The grapevine went into a overdrive as rumours started that Alagiri met Rajnikanth to get his blessings for a new political party. However Alagiri made it clear : "Rajinikanth is my friend, there was nothing political about this courtesy visit”.
