The official announcement regarding Thala 55 to be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon is still awaited, speculations and rumours are doing the rounds in social media circles about cast, crew, roles, story etc.

On the music director front, Anirudh has moved out of the picture. As per our sources, talks are going on between director GVM and Harris Jayaraj. Interestingly, AR Rahman is yet to take a final call about the project.

Anushka seems to be confirmed. Talks are going on with cinematographer SR Kathir who has worked in Katrathu Tamizh, Subramaniapuram to be the DOP for Thala 55.

The biggest rumour of all is that Thala Ajith is going to play dual roles of hero and villain! People closer to the team Thala 55 are unwilling to go on the record, but not denying either that its wrong news.

An official press release regarding Thala 55 is expected soon which should clear most of the speculations surrounding the movie.
