The two Oscar Winners AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame are gearing up to work together for the maiden production film of one of the India’s most distinguished sound designers, Resul Pookutty.

Being a good friend of Resul, Rahman will supervise the music composed by Tuomas Kantelinen for the film. “Rahman is Resul Pookutty’s friend. He is looking into every song, but he normally doesn’t like to share credits so he may not figure in the end titles with Finnish music director Tuomas Kantelinen,” says the birdie.

Sound designer Resul is turning producer with this untitled film based on Guru Nanak. Harinder Sikka will direct the film and theatre actor Harish Khanna plays the title role. Since Sikhism doesn’t permit anyone to don Guru Nanak’s garb, computer graphics will be used to depict him.

Resul has been working on his debut production film since 2012. “Two years ago, Harinder had a dream that he should make a film on Guru Nanak. It all started from there.” Samar Sikka will co-produce the film and will go on floors sometime this year.
