Director Vasantha Balan who has made critically acclaimed movies such as Veyil, Angaditheru and Aravaan is giving finishing touches to his next movie Kaaviya Thalaivan.

Kaaviya Thalaivan starring Siddharth, Prithvi Raj, Vedhika, Naseer, Thambi Raamaiah and several others revolves around pre-Independence era Drama troupes of Tamil Nadu. It is said to be a historical fiction film written and directed by Vasanthabalan.

Oscar Winner AR Rahman has composed music. The music will be out sometime in June. Meanwhile, the first look teaser will be out shortly.

Y'NOT Studios Sashi and Radiance Media Varun Manian are producing Kaaviya Thalaivan. They recently co-produced Vaayai Moodi Pesavum which turned out to be a sleeper hit .

Nirav Shah is in charge for the camera. National Award winner Praveen is in charge of editing. Kaaviya Thalaivan is most likely to release in July.
