Rathnavelu put aside seven years dream for Rajinikanth's Lingaa
Cameraman Rathnavelu, who worked with Superstar Rajinikanth in Endhiran, is the cameraman for his next film, which has been titled Lingaa.
Rathnavelu was in the process of penning a script for his own film when the Superstar called him to be a part of the KS Ravikumar directed film.
“I have been nurturing the desire to make a movie and I have been working secretly on a script. That is the reason I have been turning down offers from Tamil and Telugu filmmakers. But when Rajini sir himself called me to be a part of this project, I couldn’t say ‘no’ as I adore him and love working with him. I decided instantly to be a part of this film and put my dream of seven years on the back-burner,” Rathnavelu confides.
Lingaa, the cinematographer says, will be shot using a Red Dragon 6K camera. “This film will be a commercial entertainer like Muthu and Padayappa. We recently did a look test for Rajini sir for one of the roles in this film and he looks fresh, chiselled and full of confidence. He is excited about this project,” he discloses.
The film’s unit is at the moment in Mysore for a 40-day schedule, after which, it is likely to head to Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad to shoot a fight sequence.
