Tamil cinema has never lost its deep love for item numbers and most of our top actresses have tried their hand at it. Nayanthara's ‘Ballelakka’, ‘Kodambakkam area’ and ‘Local Boys’, Simran's ‘Althotta Boopathy’, Shriya's appearance in Indralogathil Na Azhagappan and Anjali's recent ‘Vaale Vaale’ from Singam 2 are few of the memorable item numbers.

But there have been few actresses, like Trisha and Asin, who have restrained themselves from doing those. They have made their stand very clear and in a recent telephonic prank, when Varu Sarathkumar jovially asked Trisha if she would be willing to do an item number with her (Varu) in Bala's Thara Thapattai, she immediately turned down the offer. The Boologam actress also revealed that its not her 'thing' and that she in fact had to let go of the item numbers offered by Shahrukh Khan in Chennai Express and a certain 'Suriya – Hari' project. .
