Vijay as Aravind and Andrew for ‘Kaththi’
Vijay plays a hero in one role and the other role is his opponent. Director A R Murugadoss has made an interesting turn in the story to correlate both the characters, say sources close to the film unit.
Previously, Vijay had appeared doing two characters in ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan’ which was also his first double action movie. In Kaththi, the interesting fact is Vijay is doing the hero as well as the villain role in the film. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury play the other villain s in Kaththi.
The hero Vijay named Aravind is a detective in Kolkata, who faces villain Neil Nitin Mukesh who plans out violent plots. Aravind then finds out that his real enemy is his look-alike, Andrew.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays the lady love interest of Vijay’s Aravind character, named Veni. Andrew is also said to have a lady pairing with him but the name of the actress playing that character is still kept under wraps. Sathish of ‘Ethirneechal’ fame is doing a role named Thanu.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie. George C Williams is handling camera for the action film while editing is done by Sreekar Prasad. A R Murugadoss is penning strong dialogues for Vijay which will satisfy his fans as the film has been creating a lot of hype among the masses from the day the movie was launched.
Half of the film has been completed and the film is slated for Deepavali release. Kaththi is Vijay’s second film with A R Murugadoss. Their previous venture together was Tamil blockbuster ‘Thuppakki’, which also released on Deepavali in 2012.
