Prashanth to Star in the Tamil Remake of Queen?

Thiagaraja,
Prashanth might just end up playing the lead role in the remake of the critically-acclaimed Kangana Ranaut-starrer Queen, his father and actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan has revealed.

Thiagarajan, who has bagged the remake rights of the film, however, added that there wouldn't be any pressure on the actor to play the part. "The role is a negative one and an actor needs immense courage to portray it. Prashanth at the moment is busy with other projects," he said.

He also added that Prashanth's presence would boost the commercial value of the film, as he was a well-known face.

"If not him, then an actor who is on par with him would likely be roped in for the role," he added.

While the work on the remakes has already begun, the lead actors and director are yet to be finalised.

"Regarding the heroine, it may be one actor essaying all the four versions or a couple of them. I would like to have a new filmmaker who can handle a script like this with great sensitivity. There are a few veteran filmmakers who are keen on working on this project," he added.

Thiagarajan said that he was drawn to the film due to its inspirational narration of a woman-centric tale that followed the trials and disappointments in the backdrop of tradition and culture.

"It is a woman-centric film and narrates the disappointment in human life in an inspiring manner," he said. The film will be made simultaneously in all the four languages and is scheduled for an early 2015 release. If you're wondering how this is possible, he lets on that the deal happened last month and that he is location scouting now
