Dhanush & Nayanthara bag Filmfare awards

Dhanush and Nayanthara have won the 61st Filmfare awards, held in Chennai on Saturday evening. Nayanthara got Best actor (Female) for her outstanding performance in Raja Rani. Dhanush has got the critics award for Best Actor for his performance in Maryan.

The other notable award winners in Tamil are Best Actor (Male) to Adharva for Paradesi, best debut (Male) Nivin Pauly for Neram and Gautham Karthik for Kadal. Best Debut (Female) went to Nazriya for Neram.

Best supporting actor (Male) went to Sathyaraj for Raja Rani and best supporting actor (Female) to Dhansika for Paradesi. The best director award went to Bala for Paradesi. The Best film award went to Thangameengal. The best cinematographer went to Rajiv Menon for Kadal.

AR Rahman is the best music director for Maryan. Na. Muthukumar got the best lyric writer award for the song Ananda Yazhai'.. while best singer (Male) went to Sriram Parthasarathy for the same song from Thangameengal. The best singer (Female) went to Shakthi Sree Gopalan for Nenjukulle… from Kadal.

The Lifetime Achievement award was given posthumously to noted cinematographer and director Balu Mahendra.
