Director Manimaran made his debut through the critically acclaimed film Udhayam NH4. He assisted Vetrimaaran in Polladhavan and Aadukalam. The director is now all ready with his second script.

His second directorial will feature Jai in the lead role. The makers have sent a press release saying that the details of the film will be announced at the earliest.

Poojai was held yesterday in Chennai. Jai, Vetrimaran, lyricist Piraisudan, Cinematographer Velraj were among those who took part in the event. The shooting of this movie has started rolling from yesterday and confirming it on Twitter, the star had said, “Im really pumped up about starting my new film with Udhayam NH4 director Manimaran. Need all your blessings.”

The film will be jointly produced by Varun Manian and Sushant Prasad. Thanking his producer for all the support, the actor had tweeted, “Many thanks to Varun Manian for his great support in starting my big budget project.” We wish the team all the very best!

Earlier, actress Trisha stated that she would be doing a film with Jai. Speculations are rife that this may be the project that she mentioned.
