Vikram deserves National award, says Shankar
Director Shankar has said that Vikram deserves a National Award for all the efforts he has put in for his role in I.

Ever since the trailer of Shankar’s ‘I’ was launched, there have been expectations and guessing about the movie from all over. The movie is said to be of a very new genre for the director which is a romantic thriller.

Speaking about the film, director Shankar says the movie doesn’t have its base on Olympic games or corruption either. This will be an entirely different film which nobody else has tried till date.

Speaking about Vikram’s performance in I, Shankar said that he truly deserves a National Award for the extraordinary efforts he has put in. The director has said that Vikram has toiled hard to get into the skin of the character that he is playing in his upcoming release I.

The director says that he received very good response for Vikram’s appearance in the trailer for which he is said to receive national award. Shankar points that he will be absolutely happy if he gets the award, but more than anything, it is the response from audience that matters most, he adds. Talking about the release of the film, he says the film will hit the screens for the eve of Diwali.

Produced by Aascar Ravichandran under his Aascar Films banner, the film's music is composed by Oscar winner A R Rahman. The film has been in the making for almost two years and the Vikram starrer is set for a Diwali release in October.
