Aranmanai, her first super natural comedy thriller is slowly but surely turning out to be a mega hit at the Tamil Nadu box-office and it is ‘Advantage Hansika’ all the way.
The film has grossed around 18 Crores in two weeks (Sep 19 to Oct 2) at the TN box-office, inspite of adverse conditions. Please note shows were cancelled for two days due to external factors, creating revenue loss for the film. But during the big Pooja weekend Aranmanai made a strong comeback and won over huge section of lady audiences and kids.
Aranmanai is Hansika's first heroine-oriented film and a role which was different from the normal glam girl ones she played so far in her career so far. The horror comedy has given her a new reach in B & C centres of TN. Remember in Tamil cinema if you have to be considered as a top heroine, B & C market is crucial and lady audience's acceptance is a must.
Hansika who is currently shooting for Sundar C's Vishal family entertainer Aambala in Ooty told reporters:"All credit for Aranmanai goes to Sundar sir. I'd given my heart to this film and the pressure on me was very high. I was keeping my fingers crossed till I heard positive reports on the film and my performance. It was a deviation from my routine glam roles, as I play this village girl for the first time and I worked very hard to get into the skin of the character. I feel very happy and blessed today (smiles)".
Hansika is currently riding a wave and has an impressive line-up of releases ahead. Her next release will be Meghamann with Arya, followed by Vaalu with STR, Romeo Juliet with Jayam Ravi, Uyire Uyire with newcomer Siddhu, Aambala with Vishal, and will start shoot of Vijay 58 shortly.
