Critics have appreciated Vijay for giving an all-round performance in terms of action, comedy, romance and emotions. Many have stated that "Kaththi" is a strong film for Vijay. In his debut as villain, Neil Nithin Mukesh impresses with stylish looks and his Tamil dubbing. The other actors have played their parts well.Vijay & Murugados have redefined the term ‘commercial’ once again and delivered a perfect diwali treat for the Tamil audience.

தமிழர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, விவசாயத்தை முதுகெலும்பாய் கொண்டுள்ள இந்தியாவில் அனைவரும் பார்க்கவேண்டிய படம்..
பூசணிக்காய் கொடியில் படர்கிறதா, செடியில் பூக்கிறதா, மரத்தில் காய்கிறதா, என்பது அனைவருக்கும் ஒரு சாட்டையடி..
" பசிக்காக பிச்ச கேக்கல,

என்கிற பொழுது கண்ணீர் வருகிறது,
