"Kaththi" is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of the year as Vijay and director Murugadoss have teamed up for the second time post the success of their 2012-release "Thuppakki."

Vijay will reportedly be appearing in dual roles in the film, while Samantha plays the female lead. Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh, Bengali actor Tota Roy and comedian Sathish are also part of the film's cast.

The Vijay starrer is confirmed for a Diwali release and is set for big openings on the first day. Although "Kaththi" will be clashing with Vishal's "Poojai," the action thriller flick is expected to dominate the screens across Tamil Nadu.

Diwali has proved to be a lucky period for Vijay with many of his past releases including "Thuppakki," "Sivakasi" and "Thirumalai" having turned out to be successful films. It will be interesting to see how "Kaththi" fares at the box office.

The Telugu version of the film is also expected to have a simultaneous release with the Tamil version. Tagore Madhu has reportedly acquired the Telugu dubbing rights of the film. The audio launch of the Telugu dubbed version is expected to happen soon.
