Vimal, Priya Anand and Soori starred Oru Oorla Rendu Raja [OORR] has completed censor formalities yesterday and makers have postponed the release from Gandhi Jayanthi.

With at least three Tamil films releasing every week, it has not been easy for theater owners and distributors who have been doing their best to accommodate the spate of new films within the limited number of screens.

Following the arrest of Jayalalitha, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, many theatres remained closed to the public for two to three days. In Chennai too, theatres were shut on the day of her arrest. Many theatres in rural regions have not resumed full activity. Naturally this has affected films, namely Madras, and Jeeva, which released last week.

Keeping this in mind and to support the directors we have decided to push the release of Oru Oorla Rendu Raja, towards the end of this month,” said its director Kannan.

Oru Oorla Rendu Raja casts Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Anupama Kumar in the key roles and Vishaka Singh has done a cameo. Written and directed by R Kannan, OORR is a comedy caper produced by Michael Rayappan under Kannan Pix banner.

OORR is locked to 132 mins running time and acquired a clean U certificate from the board.
