Vijay thanks Modi for freeing fishermen
The recent incidents involving five Tamil fishermen from Thangachi Madam village in Sri Lanka have attracted widespread attention.
They had been given a death sentence by the Sri Lankan government. Soon after Modi’s intervention, Sri Lankan President Rajapakshe freed the five fishermen which earned a good name for Narendra Modi in TN.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay had sent a thanksgiving letter to the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and has lauded his efforts in saving the five fishermen. He also mentions in his letter that not only the families of the fishermen are happy about this but the entire Tamil Nadu is much elated about their freeing.
In a statement, Vijay has said the final verdict not only brought happiness for the five fishermen families but to the entire Tamil Nadu. Vijay also requested Narendra Modi to provide proper security to Tamil fishermen so that they won’t get arrested again. Quite a thoughtful plea indeed!
It has to be noted that Narendra Modi has invited Vijay when he visited Tamil Nadu for his election campaign.
