Lingaa criticism: KS Ravikumar says 'not directing film for critics'

K S Ravikumar has mentioned that he is not directing films for film critics. He while speaking to the media said, “Some are criticizing the climax of Lingaa.

People who accept Hollywood super hero films like Spiderman and Batman are not accepting Tamil films. There will always be people who blame.

Critics are necessary but the films do not run by them. We are making films for the fans. They only decide the success of the film. In that way, Rajini and I know that Lingaa is a good film. Many are asking me about the complaints about the stories.

I don’t understand that how can they claim the ownership for the story. Before Lingaa we discussed about lots of stories. Pon Kumaran said that he is penning the story based on John Pennycuick.

Rajinikanth after hearing the story asked him to develop it. Lingaa was created like this. There was also problem with my Dasavatharam story. After the film was released, people said that there was no connection.

To put an end to this menace, the producers’ council and directors association should make some quick decision. Next I am directing a Kannada film which has Sudeep in the lead role.”
