Karthi's Komban release date has been finalized. After stepping back from Pongal race, KE Gnavelraja has confirmed Komban worldwide release on April 2nd.

Directed by Muthaiah, Komban is reported to be based on the relationship between a son-in-law [Karthi] and his father-in-law [Raj Kiran]. Lakshmi Menon is playing Karthi's love interest in the movie.

Taking to their official social networking page, they posted that 'Komban' will be releasing on April 2, 2015.

Komban has completed all the shooting schedules and undergoing post-production work. Karthi looks stylish with handlebar mustache in the movie. Music director GV Prakash, DOP Velraj and Editor Praveen KL are among Studio Greens producing Komban crew.

This will be the third time G. V. Prakash has scored for a Karthi movie. Prior to 'Komban', GVP has collaborated for 'Aayirathil Oruvan' and 'Saguni'. It must be noted that Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice for a song.

The movie looks promising with such a good big team. Meanwhile Komban might have tough competition from other biggies like Uthama Villain, Muni3, Purampokku and Nannbenda, which are also slotted to release on early April.

The producers are eyeing the long weekend of Good Friday (April 3), say traders. However, we have to wait and see how many will stay in the race as many could opt out to avoid clashes.

As reported, makers of "Uttama Villain" and "Komban" initially planned a Pongal release, but backed out to avoid clash with Shankar's "I" and Vishal's "Aambala".

'Uttama Villain'

"Uttama Villain" stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in the key roles. It is produced by N Lingusamy and directed by Ramesh Aravind. This is the last movie of legendary filmmaker K Balachander, who passed away recently, as an actor.

'Romeo Juliet'

'Romeo Juliet' is a romantic-comedy movie starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani. The movie is directed by Lakshman.

'Muni 3: Ganga'

The movie is directed by Raghava Lawrence and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. Taapsee Pannu plays the female lead in the comedy-horror movie.

'Nannbenda'

'Nannbenda' is a comedy movie starring producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. Nayantara and Santhanam are in the key roles in the flick directed by Jagadish.

'Purampokku'

'Purampokku' is a multi-starrer movie featuring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Shaam and Karthika Nair. It is directed by SP Jananathan and produced by UTV Motion Pictures.
