As the New Year begins, there are lots of big releases awaited of its arrival in theatres. We bring you 12 best among them that are already high on expectations.

Now, fans are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming releases in 2015. This year, Tamil film industry has an interesting line-up of films and it remains to be seen how each of them fare at the box office.

I
I – This magnum opus of Vikram, Amy Jackson and Shankar has crossed beyond the usual level of expectations. With the trailer and songs touching the top league and Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rajnikanth and Salman Khan involved in the high level promotions for this flick, there are no ends for these excitements among the masses on this film.
Ajiths-Ennai-Arinthal
Yennai Arindhaal - Ajith is right here with the long eveaded combo. Gautham Menon has wielded the megaphone for this venture thereby ensuring a class complement to Ajith’s mass appeal. Ajith is said to play a cop in this film and the teaser has made fans go gung ho about the flick. For the first time Harris Jayaraj scores the music for an Ajith starrer and after eight years for a Gautham directorial. Arun Vijay is said to play a negative role for the first time.
10 Enradhukulla
10 Endradhukulla – Following the grand success of Goli Soda, cinematographer-turned-director Vijay Milton has teamed up with Chiyaan Vikram in this film 10 Endradhukulla. The film is a road thriller, which is laced with lots of action and thrill moments. Samantha plays the female lead with Pasupathy, Jackie Shroff and Abhimanyu Singh performing important characters.
Komban
Komban – Scaling decent graph with Madras, Karthi now returns to the rural zone with Komban, directed by Kuttipuli fame Muthaiah and is directed by K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films. Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead and others in the cast includes Raj Kiran, Kovai Sarala and Super Subbarayan.
Vijay 58 Puli
Puli – A fantasy entertainer, new of its kind genre in the career of Vijay and is produced at a whopping budget reportedly. The film is directed by Chimbu Devan and is produced by Thameems, who has been distributing Vijay films in Kerala. Hansika Motwani and Shruthi Haasan are playing the female lead roles with veteran actress Sridevi and Sudeep in important roles. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music and Sathuranga Vettai fame Natty is handling cinematography.
Okay Kanmani
Okay Kanmani – Manirathnam after a long hiatus returns back with a breezy feel-good romantic film starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon in lead roles. The shoot has been already completed and audio launch might happen in Feb-March 2015. With AR Rahman (Music) and P.C. Sriram (Cinematography) onboard, we can clearly anticipate the recreation of ‘Alaipayudhey’.
Tharai Thappattai
Tharai Thappattai - Director Bala goes back to his favorite composer Ilaiyaraja and this film marks the 1000th film of the veteran music director. The film stars Sasikumar and Varalakshmi in lead roles. The film supposedly revolves around a Nadaswaram instrument artiste and a Karagam dancer. Other details are being kept under wraps, but the film can be expected to release anytime in 2015.
anegan
Anegan - Only few more days are left for the release and sources claim Feb-March could be the right time for it. Dhanush and Karthik will be appearing in different avatars and touted to be a love story laced with action, the film stars Amyra Dastur in female lead. Some of the songs by Harris Jayaraj are already topping the charts and K.V. Anand promises for an engrossing entertainer produced by AGS Entertainment at a huge budget.
Masss
Masss – A fantasy-horror tale with many characters and Suriya plays dual role in this ‘Masss’ directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films. Nayantara and Pranitha of Saguni fame are playing the female lead characters and it has a huge star-cast of Parthiepan, Samuthirakani, Jayaram, Karunaas, Sriman, Sanjay Bharathi and many others. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music and for the first time cinematographer R.D. Rajashekar is teaming up with Venkat Prabhu.

Vishwaroopam II - It’s been a long pending release and it would be a huge treat if the producers manage to bring it soon on the screens. The film will be a direct continuation of its prequel, where Kamal Haasan comes back to India to trap the terrorist groups. The sequel will have lots of emphasis laid on romance, comedy and sentiments adhered to the tale…
Idhu Namma Aalu
Idhu Namma Aalu - The film grabs everyone’s eyeballs for the combination of Silambarasan and Nayantara coming together. The film marks the debut of STR’s younger brother Kuralarasan as the music director. Although Soori appears throughout the film as comedian, Santhanam will appear in a cameo. Pasanga Pandiraj is helming this project and the release date will be announced shortly.
Naanum+Rowdydhaan
Naanum Rowdydhaan – The combination of star-cast and technicians itself is mind-boggling. Dhanush as producer, Vignesh Shivan of Poda Podi as director with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayantara pairing up and Anirudh composing music has created a huge buzz for this film. Moreover, the new looks of Vijay Sethupathi has taken everyone by storm of surprise.
