Vadivelu who was keeping away from cinema for a long time made his re-entry in the lead role in a film titled Tenali Raman.
Now after a gap of one year, he is donning the lead role in a film titled Eli, directed by Yuvaraj who earlier directed Vadivelu starrer Tenali Raman.

This film is being produced by G Satish Kumar under the banner City Cine Creations. Vadivelu is donning the role of a private detective. The story of the film happens in 1970s. Vadivelu investigates a case which police are not able to resolve. After this film, Vadivelu has been signed for four more films.

Meantime Vadivelu lost a movie with Karthi. After Komban, Karthi will be donning the lead role in the film titled Kashmoro. Initially it was informed that Vadivelu will be donning the comedian role nut now there is news that Vivek will be donning the role which Vadivelu was supposed to do.

Nayanthara and Sri Divya are pairing with Karthi. Santosh Narayanan is composing the music. Gokul who directed Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara is directing the film.

Pre- production works are going on in rapid pace. The shooting of the film will begin on 16th February.

Comedy actor Vivek had shared the screen with Surya in the films Peralagan, Singam and Singam 2. For the first time, he is sharing the screen with Karthi. Karthi starrer Komban is being released on 2nd April.
