Thala Ajith's 55th film 'Yennai Arindhaal' directed by Gautham Menon hit the screens a few days ago and has been receiving good response.

Though the response from the fans have been good, a section of the audience also feel that the first half was slightly dragging. Taking this into notice, the makers of Yennai Arindhaal finally relented and cut it short by six minutes. The length of the film did not go too well with some audiences following which it has been trimmed. According to trade sources, the run-time would now be 2 hours and 43 minutes.

It is to be noted that the film initially had a running time of close to 3 hours, which was trimmed to 2 hours 49 minutes even before the release after it went to the censor board.

Milestone

It is an important milestone for Yennai Arindhaal! According to ATMUS Entertainment, the distributors of the film in United States of America, YA has turned out to be the highest grossing Ajith film ever screened there.

The distributors have reported that the film’s four-day collections at the box office is US $415,000. The star’s earlier release, Arrambam managed to gross US $380,000 during this time frame. No doubt, Yennai Arindhaal had a wider reach among the audiences in the US. Starring Ajith, Trisha and Anushka, the film has been directed by Gautham Menon.

Yennai Arindhaal, as expected, took a massive opening on February 5th, 2015, worldwide and it is now marching towards the 100 crore club.

Yennai Arindhaal stars Ajith Kumar as an ex-cop who is urged by situations to start back his journey on the mission to save a girl. The film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and is produced by AM Rathnam. The film has Arun Vijay, Trisha, Anushka and Vivek playing important roles. Harris Jayaraj’s music is a major plus for this Gautham Menon directorial.
