Komban release preponed, screening from today!
In a sudden twist, Karthi's Komban produced by Studio Green, will release today itself on the 1st of April, a day ahead of the earlier planned release date.

Despite the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court having pushed their final decision on the Komban issue to Wednesday, the producers have decided to not just release the film, but advance the release by a day. The decision came on the back of a turbulent day, during which the court-appointed judges walked out of a screening a little after it began at a preview theatre in Chennai.

Theaters around Chennai city such as Albert, Abirami and Kamala have already opened their booking plans for 1st too. This has been confirmed by the posters and the producer confirmed the same in it's official twitter account.

“There is no stay order by the Madras High Court on the movie release. We have advanced it a day before to avoid yet another false allegation come up, and want people to see it for themselves and find out if the movie portrays or advocates even a minor caste enmity issue,” said M Muthiah, director of Komban.

The day began with the judges and parties that had protested against the film — claiming that it would incite caste-related violence — watching a special screening at Four Frames theatre. “Within a few minutes of it beginning, they asked for some parts to be replayed and called it offensive. After that the judges left the theatre,” he added.

Though the decision to release Komban could attract contempt of court charges, the producers are confident because the whole film fraternity has rallied behind them. “We also presented a bound script to the committee today morning before screening the movie, just in case they wanted to have a look. The petitioner seems to have some personal problem with me, that I am not aware of, said producer K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green.

Distributors and exhibitors around TN have apparently been informed by Studio Green regarding the move, and an official announcement can be expected at the meeting which is said to happen at 5 pm today in Chennai.

The film is embroiled in a controversy thanks to Pudhiya Thamizhagam's Krishnaswamy, as reported earlier. With the release planned for April 1st, we may take a guess that all the issues been cleared.

Book your tickets and enjoy the movie in screens.
