There has always been a huge demand for Kamal Haasan’s films in the United States of America. His recent films such as Vishwaroopam and Dasavatharam had strong standing in the overseas space were big hits globally. His latest release Uttama Villain has also been met with a good opening in the international markets. His films have done very well at the US box office; thanks to the NRI community who patronise Kamal’s films.

According to trade reports, Uttama Villain has grossed more than half a million at the US box office ever since its release on May Day. So far, the film has managed to collect around $508,137 at the US box office. Incidentally, this is the fourth Tamil film to cross the half a million mark in the year 2015 after I, Yennai Arindhaal and O Kaadhal Kanmani.

Kamal Haasan plays a dual role in this movie. He will be seen playing as an 8th century drama artist and the other as a 21st century movie star. The story of Uthama Villain is about an aging superstar (Kamal Haasan).

Uthama Villain stars Jayaram, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Urvashi, K. Vishwanath and the Late K.Balachandar – as Kamal’s mentor.
