High Court orders former Judge to supervise Nadigar Sangam elections
The Madras High Court today ordered the Nadigar Sangam to hold elections in a couple of months. They ordered appointing a former Judge Padmanabhan to supervise the elections.

A petition was filed by actors Vishal, Nasser and a few others seeking for a delay in the Nadigar Sangam elections. When the case came up for hearing, they ordering staying elections and posted the case for further hearing today.

This morning, after hearing the arguments of the petitioners and the Nadigar Sangam, it was ordered that elections be held within two months.

To facilitate free and fair elections, they ordered appointing a retired Judge Padmanabhan.

Vishal to invite CM to vote

Actor Vishal said that he and his supporters are waiting for an appointment to meet Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to invite her to cast her vote in the Nadigar Sangam election.

“We will be inviting the Chief Minister to cast her vote,” Mr. Vishal said interacting with reporters here on Sunday after taking part in a conference on cattle.

He also met the representatives of a drama association in connection with the Nadigar Sangam election.

Stating that efforts will be taken to improve the standard of living of drama artists, he said that announcements for their welfare would be made before the election.
