Bala's 'Tharai Thappattai' wraps up
Director Bala is one filmmaker who has made a mark in the industry with his realistic and hard hitting movies.
The maverick director, who had been shooting his next film ‘Tharai Thappattai’ featuring SasiKumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar for the past few months, had recently wrapped up the shoot. The news of the film’s completion was revealed by none other than the female lead Varalaxmi, who took to twitter to express her excitement.
“The journey of #Thara thappatai comes to an end where it all began… Tanjore.. Mixed emotions… It’s been an awesome ride..!” she posted in her official page.
It is to be noted that Varalaxmi was asked by Bala to lose ten kilograms for the film. Sasikumar, on the other hand, was asked to shave his trademark beard and sport a thin moustache, in order to reportedly play a Nadaswaram player in the movie. Pragathi Guruprasad, a finalist in Airtel Super Singer Junior competition, is also make her acting debut as Sasikumar’s sister in the film.
The film, which is reportedly based on the Karakattam art form, has music composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja. Thara Thappatai also happens to be the veteran musician’s 1000th film.
The film is expected to hit the theatres in late 2015.
