CIFF to pay tribute to K Balachander and Manorama

The 13th edition of Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), which will begin in the city on December 10, will pay tributes to legends K Balachander and Manorama, who passed away recently.

Eight of their films will be screened at the event, which will go on till December 17. The movies will be screened at Woodland Theatre Complex, Inox, Casino Theatre, MGR Film Institute and Russian Cultural Center.

Apart from the movies of Balachander and Manorama, some of the best of films from all over the world are set to be screened during CIFF. Around 12,000 film enthusiasts from all over India are expected to attend the event.

An initiative of the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF), Chennai International Film Festival is being conducted since 2003. This year, six Cannes winners, 16 Oscar-nominated films, and 10 Berlin winners will be screened in Chennai.
