Rahman to bring curtains down on IFFI

Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman will be the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony of the coveted International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is to be held in Goa between November 20 and 30.

According to a statement, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the government of Goa along with Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) made the announcement at a review meeting.

The music maestro will also attend the NFDC Film Bazaar that is held parallel to the festival where Nasreen Munni Kabir is moderating a session ‘Films and Beyond’ on Rahman.

Around 187 films from 89 countries will be showcased this year in World Cinema section at the IFFI, along with 26 Feature and 21 Non-Feature films in Indian Panorama section. Delegates from as many as 38 countries are expected to attend the annual event.
