“The police are keen at arresting him. This was visible from the arguments made by the prosecution side in the court. The government pleader said the impact of the song was not confined only to the city or the state but across the country. He also strongly objected the court granting anticipatory bail to Simbu,” sources said.
Appearing for Simbu, senior counsel R Muthukumarswamy said that mischief was played by someone without the actor’s knowledge by leaking the ‘beep song’. He said arrest and custodial interrogation were not necessary.
He further submitted that some unknown third party, with ulterior motive, transmitted the sound track with interpolated words, without his knowledge and consent in the electronic media, which is nothing but an interference of his right to privacy.
